Maserati unveils the new MC20 supercar.

On September 9, 2020, the venerable Italian car brand MASERATI has unveiled its new supercar, the MC20.

The new Maserati MC20 is the successor to the MC12, the limited edition hypercar launched in 2004. While the MC12 was a track-oriented hypercar based on the Enzo Ferrari, the MC20 is a high performance sports car with a lower retail price and practicality and comfort.

The MC20 is powered by MASERATI's proprietary Nettuno V6 twin-turbo engine, which is mounted in the mid-section. According to the company's published performance figures, the MC20 has a maximum power output of 630 hp, a maximum torque of 730 Nm, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 325 km/h.

This uniquely designed supercar is designed to work in coupe style as well as convertible and EV models, with its distinctive "butterfly doors" that open diagonally upwards like a butterfly, a functional door that improves the ergonomics of the car's interior and allows access to the cabin.

Switching between the four driving modes - GT, Sport, Corsa and Wet - that allow for both sport and everyday driving, the MC20 not only comes into its own on the racetrack, but also provides a comfortable driving experience.

The MC20 is also equipped with the MIA (Maserati Intelligent Assistant) multimedia system, which can be operated in conjunction with Amazon Alexa and Google Assist.

Unveiled in Tokyo at the same time as the world premiere in Modena, Italy, the MC20 was announced for sale in Japan at an announced price of 26.5 million yen, which seems reasonable compared to the MC12, which was a million-dollar class hypercar.

Production of the new MASERATI MC20 for Europe is scheduled to begin at the end of 2020.
